Job Summary: We are currently seeking experienced and highly motivated individuals to join our team as educators for our summer and afterschool enrichment program. The program caters to students in grades PreK - 8th grade and the successful candidates will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and providing individualized instruction to help students achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct a small group of students with the aid of the provided lesson plans, incorporating various teaching strategies and techniques to foster engagement, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that values diversity and encourages student engagement and academic success.
- Provide personalized instruction to students through one-on-one or small group sessions that cater to individual needs.
- Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback to both students and parents.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to differentiate instruction and cater to diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, school staff, and program coordinators to ensure program effectiveness and student progress.
- Attend professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up to date with the best practices in education.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, progress, and assessment results.
- Participate in staff meetings and comply with program policies and procedures.
- Provide regular updates on student progress and address concerns or questions to Lead Teachers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, education, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 60 college credits is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and cater to diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence.
Working Conditions:
- Teachers are required to travel to schools, community centers, and/or other designated tutoring locations.
- Teachers will work closely with Lead Teachers and the Operations Manager.
- This is a part-time position with flexible hours, depending on program needs.
