Job Summary: The Parent Liaison will serve as a connection between the South Jersey Solutions Tutoring Program and the community, particularly parents and guardians of students. They will be responsible for recruiting and managing students, communicating with parents, and coordinating events and activities to promote the program's objectives. This role will focus on recruitment and management of students for the program and will require excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents, families, and community organizations to promote the tutoring program and recruit students.
- Work with local schools and community organizations to promote the tutoring program and its services.
- Work with the tutoring program staff to ensure that all information and materials related to the program are easily accessible and understandable for parents and families.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and families with questions or concerns related to the tutoring program.
- Assist with program logistics, including scheduling, transportation, and coordination with other community organizations as needed.
- Coordinate with program staff to develop student schedules and ensure that all students receive appropriate support and resources.
- Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement events and activities that engage parents and promote the tutoring program.
- Support tutoring program staff with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students and families in an educational or community setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and community members.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of Camden, NJ's local schools and community resources preferred.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Working Conditions:
- The Parent Liaison position will primarily involve traveling to schools, community centers, and other locations to meet with parents and students, although some remote work may also be necessary.
- The position may require some evening and weekend work to accommodate parent schedules and program events.
- The Parent Liaison will work closely with program staff and report to the Operations Manager
- This is a part-time position with flexible hours, depending on program needs.
